Natural gas

Our natural gas portfolio consists of Shell equity production, long-term third-party offtake agreements, natural gas storage and transportation capacity supplemented with LNG supply giving us unrivalled ability to meet customers鈥� needs.

Power

Through our portfolio that includes renewable power and renewable power certificates we offer power supply, corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs), and investment opportunities over a wide range of tenors as well as battery optimisation solutions helping customers to meet their energy and decarbonisation needs.

Renewable natural gas Biomethane

We are the largest biomethane business in Europe following Shell鈥檚 acquisition of Nature Energy in 2023 which added to an already material European biomethane portfolio.

Equity renewable generation

We have around 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of generation capacity in operation and under construction/contract, and around 7.9 GW of potential capacity in our pipeline across Europe.

Trading capabilities

Today, Shell Energy is one of the largest traders in Europe and has built substantial gas and power portfolios. Our scale, experience and expertise enables us to create bespoke structures to meet the requirements of our customers.* In addition to our gas and power trading activities, we have built large renewable natural gas, renewable power certificates and environmental products desks.

We are present across the value chain, from generation to offtake and trading and we have around 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of generation capacity in operation and under construction/contract, and around 7.9 GW of potential capacity in our pipeline across Europe.

Natural gas portfolio

Shell is one of the leading natural gas producers in Europe and Shell Energy has gathered experience over decades in trading and marketing natural gas to help Europe and its businesses to meet its energy needs.

Power portfolio

Our extensive power portfolio enables us to structure supply agreements, virtual/financial and physical Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and renewable power certificate contracts. In addition, we work with investors and battery park owners to optimise their battery storage assets.

Environmental products

Shell Environmental products executed the first trade on the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) over 20 years ago and has been operating in Europe ever since. Today, we are a significant European and 麻豆传媒 compliance market participant as well as having built a large portfolio of carbon credits to meet the voluntary carbon needs of our customers.

We work with customers across Europe through our European trading desks and our sales offices are dedicated to serving businesses with physical gas and power in these countries.
