Power portfolio
Electricity is the fastest-growing part of the energy system. To accelerate the transition to net-zero emissions, power is playing an increasingly important role and is being delivered to customers from conventional power plants, renewable energy developments and battery storage assets through a number of ways including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
Securing your power supply for the energy transition today
Shell Energy is involved in power trading at almost every stage of the power system; from generating electricity, buying and selling on the wholesale market and storage and direct customer supply.
Within Europe, Shell Energy plays an important role to support businesses through the energy transition via its integrated energy solutions. We support the EU鈥檚 green transition plan, REPowerEU, which is aimed at spurring investment in renewable energy, delivering energy efficiency, producing cleaner energy and diversifying energy supplies.
Today, Shell in Europe has around 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of generation capacity in operation and under construction/contract, and around 7.9 GW of potential capacity in our pipeline.
