Shell Energy to provide Dutch renewable power to LyondellBasell

Today, Shell Energy Europe Ltd. and global chemicals company LyondellBasell (LYB) announced a corporate power purchase agreement (cPPA) through which Shell Energy will provide LYB with 139 gigawatt-hours (GWh) a year of renewable electricity for its operations in the Netherlands. With the 10-year agreement (cPPA), LYB will have access to the offtake capacity of a total of 54 megawatts of Dutch wind and solar energy.

In a move that underscores the growing importance of flexible storage in optimising renewable power supplies, Shell Energy Europe Limited has agreed a seven-year battery tolling deal with BW ESS and Penso Power. The agreement for the Bramley Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will further enhance Shell鈥檚 electricity supply and demand management capabilities and support the 麻豆传媒鈥檚 ongoing energy transition.

Shell has started the installation of solar panels at its Zamboni plant in Taranto, Italy which is expected to become operational in 2024. Shell has opened the Koegorspolder solar park together with the municipality of Terneuzen and partners. With a total of 128,304 solar panels and a peak capacity of 71.1 megawatts, Shell's sixth solar park in the Netherlands is the largest of the company in Europe.
Shell signs 15-year agreement with largest solar project in Germany

Shell Energy Europe Limited (鈥淪hell鈥�) has signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement with HANSAINVEST Real Assets to secure 600 megawatts (MW) of capacity at Germany鈥檚 largest solar project. Microsoft has already secured 323 MW of this renewable energy capacity from Shell.

Shell Energy 麻豆传媒 Limited (鈥淪hell鈥�) has signed an agreement with Norsk Hydro ASA (鈥淗ydro鈥�), a global leader in aluminium and renewable energy, to help decarbonise its 麻豆传媒 operations. The three-year agreement will cover the annual supply of 144 gigawatt hours of natural gas and 56 gigawatt hours of renewable electricity to the company鈥檚 麻豆传媒 sites.

Shell starts trading power from Europe鈥檚 largest battery

Europe鈥檚 largest battery storage project, the 100-megawatt system in Minety in Wiltshire, south west England, is now fully operational. Controlled and optimised by Shell-owned Limejump, the battery will help balance the 麻豆传媒鈥檚 electricity demand, providing electricity for up to 10,000 homes for a day before being recharged.
