With over 100 years of redefining energy technology, Baker Hughes knows the importance of looking to the future. Having set themselves a target to halve their operational emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, Baker Hughes needed an energy supplier who could work with them to reach this goal.
The solution鈥�
Shell Energy is working with Baker Hughes to reduce their emissions and help decarbonise energy and industrial sectors. In Italy, we have turned to our recently opened Zamboni solar park, located in Taranto. With more than 34,000 high-efficiency photovoltaic panels installed in an industrial area of over 17 hectares, the site has a capacity of ~20MW and is expected to generate over 30GWh of renewable energy annually. Part of this energy is planned to be supplied through a corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) to seven Baker Hughes Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) facilities located in Italy. This is helping Baker Hughes to reduce emissions locally by around 13%. It鈥檚 an important step on their decarbonisation journey.鈥�
