Reduce Emissions With Shell Fleet Solutions
The global energy system is changing. A planet destined for more people and rising living standards will need more energy. In order to achieve a low-carbon future, and meet industry sustainability goals, the global fleet sector must undergo immense change. However, the transition to alternative powertrains and avoiding emissions entirely is a gradual process.
Fleets must find ways of reducing their carbon emissions starting today. From adopting alternative fuels through to using data to ensure that your vehicles are driven in the most efficient and economic ways, we can help you to reduce your fleet emissions.
Products that work for your fleet today and tomorrow
We are continuing to invest in expanding our products and services with digital fleet management solutions, like our telematics solution and fuels and lubricants that work in existing and new vehicle technologies, from petrol and diesel to alternative low-carbon fuels like LNG.
When it comes to present-day alternatives to conventional diesel, fuels based on cleaner-burning natural gas and biofuels that are blended with conventional gasoline and diesel, are cost-effective solutions for reducing emissions.
Innovative Fuels & Lubricants
Our latest generation of world-class fuels and low-viscosity lubricants are designed to drive engine efficiency which delivers less consumption, lower costs and reduced emissions.

Shell V-Power
With over five years of R&D, the Shell V-Power gasoline and diesel range is designed to prevent future build-up of deposits on vital engine parts and restore cleanliness.1

Shell FuelSave Diesel and Shell Diesel Extra
Our new and improved Shell FuelSave Diesel triple-action formula has been independently proven to save fuel by up to 3.75%2, which can help to lower operational costs. It is one of our most advanced cleaning formulas that protects against corrosion and deposit build up.

Shell Rimula R6 LME
Shell Rimula Light Duty Range is designed for light duty trucks. With Dynamic Protection and Dynamic Protection Plus Technology3, it protects against engine wear and tear caused by each stop and start in your day. The high-performance additive package contains anti-oxidation components for a longer oil life in vehicles operating under high idle engine conditions. Dispersants in the additive package help break down soot and deposit build-up regardless of the type of load carried.

AdBlue
AdBlue庐 reduces the harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel vehicle exhaust emissions by up to 90%4, by converting them into nitrogen and water vapour.

Shell Helix
Shell Helix fully synthetic oils are manufactured from 100% synthetic base stock and high-quality additives to provide superior cleansing and protection for today鈥檚 hard-working engines. Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology has low-viscosity, low-friction formulations, which can result in up to 3% greater fuel economy.5 Giving you more money and more miles to drive on and on and on with. Shell Helix 0W oils across markets in Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific are now carbon neutral,6 meaning that Shell鈥檚 global portfolio of nature-based carbon credits will compensate CO2e emissions from the lifecycle of these products.
Alternative Fuels

Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and bio-LNG
In the short and medium term, LNG and bio-LNG are a practical, economical and emission-reducing option for large trucks and heavy transport. LNG can help reduce well-to-wheel greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty engines by up to 22% compared to conventional diesel.7 Bio-LNG, a practically carbon neutral 100% biofuel produced from organic and agricultural waste, can reduce lifecycle emissions by as much as 80-95%8 compared to conventional fuels, depending on the fuel source and production pathway. Shell has been a pioneer for more than 50 years.
- Our LNG supplies come from 17 countries and are delivered to customers across 25 countries
- We have been developing a safe, reliable and growing supply chain 鈥 including our retail network and other companies within the bio-LNG EuroNet Consortium.
- We are also working with OEMs to further develop LNG as a fuel for heavy-duty truck operators

Gas-to-liquids (GTL)
GTL fuel is a cleaner, safer alternative to diesel that works without the need for engine modifications. As a fuel that burns more cleanly than conventional crude oil-based diesel, it can help your fleet comply with environmental regulations, and contribute to improved air quality in the areas you operate.
- Shell began developing GTL technology in the 1970s
- We opened the first commercial GTL plant in Bintulu, Malaysia in 1993 and the world鈥檚 largest plant, Pearl GTL, in 2011
- GTL can help to reduce Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions by 5-37%9
- GTL can help to reduce particulate matter by 10-38%9
- It is already being used in public buses, city utility vehicles and heavy-duty trucks in Europe
- Contains none of the impurities 鈥 Sulphur, aromatics and nitrogen 鈥 that are in crude oil

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)
CNG (methane stored at high pressure) is a fuel which can be used in place of gasoline and diesel fuel. CNG is used in traditional gasoline/ internal combustion engine vehicles that have been modified or in vehicles which were manufactured for CNG use, either alone (鈥榙edicated鈥), with a segregated gasoline system to extend range (dual fuel) or in conjunction with another fuel such as diesel (bi-fuel).

Biofuels
Biofuels are a renewable energy source, and valuable part of the energy mix for fleets. Biofuels are made from organic matter or waste and can be blended into petrol and diesel. Shell is one of the world鈥檚 largest blenders and distributors of biofuels, providing 9.5 billion litres in 2016 using sustainable raw materials. Biofuels are a cost-effective way to reduce make today鈥檚 vehicles operate with fewer emissions, and currently make up 3% of the global demand for road transport fuel.
Efficient Driving
In addition to choosing the right fuels and lubricants for your vehicles, having a complete understanding of your fleet鈥檚 performance, supported by digital fleet management tools like telematics, can help to reduce your fleet emissions.
Telematics
Telematics can equip you with instant insights into your fleet鈥檚 fuel economy, idle time and route optimisation, to drive more efficient operations.
1. Removes and protects from the build-up of performance robbing deposits on key fuel system components such as intake valves and/or fuel injectors. Cleanliness and engine performance recovery demonstrated using industry standard and Shell proprietary tests. With continuous use of Shell V-Power from the first full tank fill. Actual effects and benefits may vary according to vehicle type, vehicle age, vehicle condition and driving style. No guarantees provided.
2. Compared to regular diesel without fuel economy formula. Actual savings may vary according to vehicle, driving conditions and driving style. Internal Shell tests with our customers have shown a range of fuel savings depending on age of vehicle and type of operations.
3. Dynamic Protection Plus Technology is included in Grade LD5 only.

5. Based on ACEA M 111 fuel economy results compared with the industry reference oil.
6. The term 鈥楥arbon Neutral鈥, indicates that Shell has engaged in a transaction where an amount of carbon dioxide equivalent with the acquisition and pre-processing of raw materials, lubricants production, packaging, distribution, and the subsequent use and end of life treatment of the used materials in relation to the Shell Lubricants products, has been removed from the atmosphere through a nature based process, or emissions saved through avoided degradation of natural ecosystems.
