Shell to continue sharing latest technologies to future Philippine Mariners

Shell Marine has renewed its technical partnership for a further four years with the University of Cebu - Maritime Education and Training Center (UC METC).

At the signing of the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were Shell Marine Executive Director Jan Toschka, University of Cebu President Atty. Augusto W. Go.

鈥淲e are exceptionally pleased to renew our technical partnership with Shell Marine. We are appreciative of Shell鈥檚 efforts on imparting the latest technical knowledge from years of research to our maritime students and lecturers,鈥 said Atty. Go.

Shell Marine will provide expertise in lubrication technology to the students and lecturers of the UC METC. A technical team from Shell Marine will provide training and knowledge modules through workshops and seminars at the UC METC.

Shell Marine Executive Director Jan Toschka said, 鈥淲e continuously seek to support the development of seafarers. It is one of the shipping industry鈥檚 most important professions and especially here in the Philippinnes where the talent is evident and the profession growing. By providing them with the latest insights in technology and innovation onboard, we can help prepare seafarers to tackle the technical challenges we see in today鈥檚 maritime sector."

Shell Marine will also provide its Rapid Lubrication Analysis (RLA) Onboard Plus Test Kit (Cold Corrosion Test Kit) to UC METC. UC METC will use Shell Marine materials and products when lecturing on marine products and during the Shell Marine Technical Seminar, and input knowledge and information related to Pilipinas Shell and Shell Marine during the workshops or seminars.
