Upon completion, Shell’s new GMP in Indonesia will be capable of producing up to 12 kilotonnes of grease per year, helping to meet the growing demand for premium grease products in the country. The plant will be built with the latest technology, including a contact reactor, to enhance agility and efficiency.

The new GMP will produce grease products under the trademark of Shell Gadus®, which are used in applications such as bearings and gears. The plant will be able to produce high-quality grease product in a variety of packaging including drum, pail, and fluid bag to serve the diverse needs of customers in various industries, including general manufacturing, pulp and paper, steel, smelter, power, fleet, construction as well as mining.

• With a production capacity of 12 kilotonnes per year, Shell’s GMP in Indonesia will become the third largest GMP that is 100% owned and operated by Shell globally.
• Shell’s GMP in Indonesia is located at the Marunda Lubricants Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) complex, Bekasi. On November 2022, Shell Indonesia completed the expansion of its LOBP, which doubled its production capacity, to produce up to 300 million litres of lubricants products a year, compared to 136 million liters previously.
