Shell Insights, working with Foresight Factory, conducted proprietary global research in February 2023 that surveyed 1,800 participants across Great Britain, USA, China, France, Brazil and Germany to understand concerns and consumer attitudes regarding different personal care product ingredients. The results indicated performance quality is a primary consideration for consumers when purchasing personal care products.
Shell NEODOL庐 and Shell NEODENE庐 have a highly linear chemical chain, with slight branching, which provides superior emulsification with the cleansing and foaming properties consumers demand. These products also have the added benefit of being readily biodegradable.
The light branching composition in Shell NEODOL improves performance, handling properties, and compatibility with other ingredients in formulations. In fact, this unique alcohol structure also makes it highly biodegradable.
Looking to simplify your supply chain to produce creams, hair mousse and facial cleansers? Shell NEODOL provides excellent emulsification and cleansing due to their 80% linear 20% branched composition. Shell NEODOL products are a flexible ingredient because they are colorless and range from liquids to low melting point solids ideal for use in a range of personal care formulations.
Several Shell NEODOL products used in the personal care space are on the EPA Safer Choice Ingredient List. Safer Choice is a voluntary EPA program that certifies cleaning and other products made with ingredients that are safer for people, pets and the planet without sacrificing performance. Products on the EPA Safer Choice ingredient list must meet strict criteria on the biodegradation, degradation products and level of aquatic toxicity.
